Before you beginA few useful answers.
Can you file an application prepared by me or my patent attorney?
Yes. Prepared applications are welcome. The review scope is agreed in advance, and any identified issues requiring further work are discussed with you before submission. Acceptance of a filing engagement depends on the materials and circumstances.
Does the provisional filing service include a full substantive assessment?
The starting filing package includes a defined review for formalities, apparent completeness, and filing issues. It does not include a comprehensive assessment of disclosure sufficiency, claim strategy, or patentability. A separate assessment or drafting engagement can be arranged if needed.
What if I need an application drafted?
Steve can prepare an application from your invention disclosure. Drafting is quoted separately based on the technology, available materials, drawings, and intended filing route.
Can you meet an urgent filing deadline?
State the exact deadline in your first message. Availability and timing must be expressly confirmed after reviewing the circumstances. Sending an inquiry does not reserve a filing date or establish responsibility for a deadline.
Can you handle the application after filing?
Yes. Continued prosecution can be arranged under a separate or expanded engagement. The initial engagement specifies which follow-up work is included and who is responsible for subsequent deadlines.
Are government fees included?
No. USPTO fees are identified separately. Applicable fees depend on the filing and verified entity status, among other factors. Payment arrangements are confirmed before filing.
